Joseph
Campbell recognised that a life well lived is filled with many
heroes journeys. These are journeys into the world of symbols and an
exploration of how you fit into the collective unconscious. Going into
a mind that is bigger than what we can measure means having the courage
to seek and understand creations symbols and how we fit into them. This
is a chance to recognise the importance of a means of communication of
the spirit, more deep than the symbols of language or black and white
text. This is the language that the Son of man talked in when He
visited, not in five step processes but in parables and poetry.
It begins
with the Ordinary World: Heroes Spiritual Journey
Departure:
(Level 1
Spiritual-Self)
The Heroes Spiritual Journey
Departure starts in the
ordinary
world. Here the
person doesn't know their personal potential or calling. Where you are
here , right now where you are sitting is what you will have to give
up. Your task is to go into that world of symbols, see your purpose and
come back and share it with us all after the Heroes Spiritual Journey
Departure phase.
A Call to Adventure:
Heroes Spiritual Journey Departure:
(Level
1 Spiritual-Self)
The call to adventure in the Heroes
Spiritual Journey Departure phase
is the point in a person's life when she or she is first given notice
that everything is going to change, whether they know it or not.
(Campbell)
Sometimes the hero or heroine is simply called to leave the religious
slavery of a Godless spirituality and to seek freedom in a lived
spiritual adventure. The call to freedom from guilt and sin is offered
in return for devotion to a fully lived life the details of which have
already been knitted into the adventurers heart: waiting to become
shared with the world.
Ask your self what is it that you are not happy about in your world.
That is where your destiny awaits you. It's a strange thing that often
the things the purposes we are given to change by the dream giver
creator are those things that cause us angst or unease. What are you
uneasy about in this world. Guys, it could be a simple as that fish
that got away. What oppression are you trying to escape?
Remember Moses and his oppressors? He did not know what he
was in for when he was living as an empty man, but eventually he
decided to know the fear and do it anyway. His heroes
journey led an oppressed nation to victory. Simply because he heeded
the call. He took back what rightfully belonged to his people; Their
Freedom. The story of Ruth is another example of honouring a call.
Perhaps a Refusal of the Call:
Heroes Spiritual Journey Departure
(Level
2 Spiritual-Self)
Often in the Heroes
Spiritual Journey Departure phase
a call is given, and the future hero refuses to heed it. This may be
from a sense of duty or obligation, fear, insecurity, a sense of
inadequacy, or any of a range of reasons that work to hold the person
in his or her current circumstances.
The Heroine or Hero may remain anchored to past ways and associations.
A false humility and pride may come over the Hero. One that uses old
dysfunctional bonds and connections as an excuse not to answer and
peruse the spiritual adventure offered beyond the Heroes Spiritual
Journey Departure phase.
This is like the parable of the seeds. The seed lands on the ground but
it doesn't take or like the ground that receives the seed and it takes
but but is later choked by weeds. The lives of those who take the call
and those who don't commit to the call are insanely different. This may
depend on where your anchor is, do you fear what may happen to you in
the spiritual realm, or what could happen to you in the
earthly realm. Forfeit the sweet musical call of creation and you may
end up living a shallow materialistic dreams in your heart, but you
will never know the true Joy of The fulfillment.
Meeting Wise Mentor:
Heroes Spiritual Journey Departure:
(Level
2 Spiritual-Self)
Once the hero has committed to the quest, consciously or unconsciously,
his or her guide and magical helper appears, or becomes known.(Campbell)
Creation never meant you to do life alone, spiritual helpers may appear
to help you on your Heroes Spiritual Journey Departure. Seek guidance
from those wise people you meet along the way, those who
let you know what the challenges are and how to transcend them. Those
words of wisdom that spring out at you into your into you consciousness
and calling you onwards: ever onwards.
The First Threshold:
Heroes Spiritual Journey Departure:
(Level
3 Spiritual-Self)
After confronting their own personnel issues in the Heroes Spiritual
Journey Departure, the hero enters into the challenging eternal
spirit realm of promises, where there is not any wanting for the past
or turning back. The heroine here becomes aware of the choice
confronting them and chooses immersion in the journey and, arises
having concurred those old grave, grave attachments that once held them
back.
The Heroes Spiritual Journey Departure is the point where the person
actually crosses into the field of
adventure, leaving the known limits of his or her world and venturing
into an unknown and dangerous realm where the rules and limits are not
known. (Campbell)
The Heroes Spiritual Journey Departure is where you are brave enough to
cross over into full commitment
to the world of spirit. It's a willingness to accept the spiritual
reality that all things came from he creator who is pure spirit, light,
love....... and anchor yourself to that truth. In the pure forms
boundaries that divide us dissolve and we are able to enjoy true
communion with creation and each other. In creation there is not any
fear over evil, because when you cross over threshold into the
limitless eternal spirit creation there fear has been triumphed over.
The enemy does not have any power over the eternal spirit once you step
over the threshold in the Heroes
Spiritual Journey Departure phase.
In your previous small world there were good and evil, black and white,
happy and sad, but over the threshold a new world view prevails that
leaves these old judgments behind. Again and again our hard wired
consciousness will interrupt, but once we anchor ourselves to this
eternal perspective. Remember, Jesus while anchored from this eternal
perspective managed to rise again to overcome the duality of life, and
death itself. Now is your opportunity to defeat death, the enemy, to
slay the dragon, get your self together cross that dessert, go through
that cave, go cleanse ourself through that fire and return anew.
