The Spiritual Self JourneyFor those looking for
a spirituality
that's not too fragile to withstand consideration tho options are
limited. Especially if you are looking for a Christianity that doesn't
require weapons to engender belief then you may find yourself very
lonely. Hey, But that only makes the trail less crowded. To have an authentic Christian
spirituality these days, is to have arrived somewhere heavenly. A
place that accepts that there is a spiritual development process that
involves more than a few simple steps, or answering an alter call. To
have a real ,relevant, relationship is not to hang on in a
Christian Bubble until you get to heaven. You need to begin making
Heaven on Earth Today. A journey that starts with the Spiritual Self.
We begin this Journey when we are born. We evolve from babies, to children, to adults all the time adding more layers of complexity and morality, ethics, sense of justness and compassion. By evolve I mean one layer becomes the foundation for the next. If the baby is well cared for it will grow up strong and balanced. We were always meant to keep growing in a spiritual sense. The four essential journeys of spiritual self allow you to keep growing spiritually by giving you the map of where to go. The Four Essential Journeys
The first is doing all we can to make this place more like heaven on Earth. The second is realizing there is nothing we can do on our own strength. Both the humanists, like Maslow and the traditional churches make good points. The both have some claim to the truth. It is time to make some sense out of these congruent paths to spiritual bliss.
• The first path is the path of personal
transformation through the hard work of the self. Becoming more
transparent allows for this personal transformation of the self.On the inner self path individuals
may evolve higher states of consciousness.
• The self is constructed in a culture which provides a spiritual covering. This cultural backdrop of collective theology of belief systems is the next path. On the collective inner path a mythic world view may become rational then postmodern. • Another is the path of transformation and change, recognizable through the effect we have on society and the will of God we do in our walk. This is the outward observable church of collective faith and belief. On the collective society a church may evolve a system of representing the beliefs of the congregation. • The final path is the path of your physiological being. And doing what you can to honor your body, and this earth as a vessel of Gods creation power.On the outer self path cells may become organs in the body of Christ. All four paths of salvation and transformation are needed. Each without the other is not complete. This oneness of all aspects of God over fragmentation is the foundation of the Spiritual-Self.  Each time you find synergy of the four essential paths the fragmented elements cease to exert their destructive terror on the other. On Spiritual Self we approach the journey of Faith through the Heroes Journey. This is the journey you find on all those Epic Hollywood films.We use the heroes journey because we want to make the symbols connect with your psyche, to bring about a real, authentic connection and unify the paths. This is the Spiritual Self journey of losing your life to find it. Only a message as powerful as the bible has the power to bring synergy to the four essential journeys. Four paths into ONE
The Heroes Journey you are familiar with from the movies on this site becomes the means to synergy of the four paths. Abraham Maslow charted a hierarchy of needs which charts what those without a real spiritual quest, a real heroes journey might cling to. These are are the values the bored person esteems to when there is not any longer a passion for victory in the spiritual quest of unifying the different aspects of God and spirit. This is the journey often mistaken for spirituality but is mere self neurotic narcissism without the faith of spirit in all it's glory. The spiritual self journey is not about dried up religion, or self obsession, but a journey that is real and relevant, and complete. Heroes Journey creator Joseph Campbell noted that to have a zeal, a dedication to be gripped by that calling of the invitation to live it out transcends the need for Maslow's hierarchy of needs. The need and valuing of survival and your life, safety, personal relationships, prestige and self developments. These values Maslow claims as the essentials, only get in the way when it comes to the calling or the ONE true quest. These are the needs of the living dead, hollow people, who don't have the quest of knowing their own personal story. The quiet narrative that moves you on through life with ever increasing degrees of madness and passion, stimulated by your intimate relationship to it. The insanity of your complete immersion in the symbols and metaphors that come out to greet you. Rich with all the intensity and madness to reach the innermost parts of your being, and to touch heaven itself. Commitment
to the ONE
To know your sacred narrative tradition in true spirit, at the inner most core is to forsake survival, to carry your cross and sacrifice your life, you will think little of the prestige of men, and have little time to devote to endless gazing and the development of the self. This is the path of crazy zealot. The one who would sell anything to follow Jesus. The only thing we ask is that you don't impose on other Christians your limited world view until you have advanced at least as much on all four paths. Levels of
