Low Self Esteem is not a domain reserved for the disadvantaged. Low self esteem signs become evident where the individual overdoes the coping strategies they use to mask their insecurities. Worth remembering at this stage that low self esteem is not always a big problem in itself. Low self esteem is in many ways a result of the community not taking up it's responsibility to love and cherish the contributions of all it's members.

Some of the early philosophers of Self Esteem even suggested travel as a way to improve self esteem (either travel in your immediate environment or literal travel). A victim mentality in these circumstances accepts the bad report given by the community which is not a good outcome because it fails to give opportunities for the community to deal with it's issues.

A balance is needed which allows the individual to locate the source of oppression and condemnation and deal with the negative self scripts that are produced.
